Time flies when you discuss battery safety
On May 19, close to 70 people were gathered on Teams for the first MBF member meeting of the year. The topic was battery safety. Roman Stoiber (Corvus Energy), Arne Fortun (Fjord1) and Sverre Eriksen (DNV) gave insightful presentations on the topic. There is no doubt that the meeting involved good discussions and sharing of knowledge & experience.
First U.S. Flagged OSV Equipped with a Battery/Converter System
The Harvey Energy will become the first ABS-classed dual-fuel (LNG/marine diesel) and battery vessel and the first U.S. flagged OSV equipped with a battery/converter system. Wärtsilä was contracted to supply the energy storage system, energy management system, transformer and drive.
Kongsberg Maritime to supply battery package for training vessel
MBF member Kongsberg Maritime is to supply battery package and other equipment to the training vessel, MS Gann, to reduce emissions and enhance training om board.
Two great days at the online WATTS UP conference
